P001 – Pre-amp including MC phono stage – $17,880

preamp_front copy

The Voxativ Ampeggio preamp is constructed by Voxativ chief engineer Stefan Noll. His team is also manufacturing the unit in Fulda/Germany.
Mr. Noll did develop a fast and complete noise-free circuit that is extremely dynamic and perfectly made to fit Voxativ mono blocks and all other amplifiers, even solid state. A sonic revelation with a separate power supply and RCA NOS tubes.
Inside of this preamp Voxativ is using a solid state rectification, no chokes and a complete regulation of all voltages with tubes. The musical way though this preamp is designed without any components except the output capacitors by Mundorf. Your music signal is transported by silver wires.
There is no potentiometer inside. An attenuator with motor driven infrared remote control from Switzerland does the job and switches in 24 steps between 24 high end resistors. The benefit: Extreme resolution and crystal clear music.
Also implemented: An excellent tube based MC phono stage. This was realized with 4 tubes and Lundahl MC step-up transformers. To keep the preamp completely noise free in MC position the power supply is put in an extra box. No noise. No hum. Never.

This is no preamp that is smoothing up everything. It is a very dynamic machine that loves details and brings out the most emotional musical experience.

Also: Lots of other tube amplifiers do have problems to stay noise free with 100 dB speakers. Not this one nor the matching monoblocs.

Audio Hungry

APR 204 – preamp$1,999.

APR 204

The launching of the vacuum tube stereo power amp Qualiton APX 200 entailed the demand for developing a thoroughly classic vacuum tube preamp. The vacuum tube preamp Qualiton APR 204 is meant to meet this demand by not wanting to seem to be more than it is: it is in fact one indispensable element of the sound chain which was developed based on clear guiding principles and is able to evoke the classics of tube electronics.

At the same time, three audio sources with line level output signals as well as one signal source with MM phono output signal level can be connected to the RCA connectors at the rear panel. With the help of the audio source selector switch at the front panel, the user can determine, out of these four audio sources, which one of the relay-switched, volume-controlled signal should reach the output RCA connectors.

If the input selector unit is in ‘P’, i.e. PHONO position, the signal to be processed gets on the grid of the first voltage-amplifying vacuum tube through RCA connectors marked PHONO – thus, through the shortest possible signal paths. From here, in the before-mentioned classic way, the signal component gets on the grid of the second voltage-amplifying stage through a passive correction network between stages according to RIAA standard, realised exclusively with passive elements. We use both in the first and in the second voltage-amplifying stage double triodes ECC83/12AX7. Through an appropriate tuning circuit and volume control potentiometer, the output of the PHONO stage is connected to LINE stage, consisting of double triodes E88CC/6922.

Warranty: 2 years

Qualition Phono$4,499.

A premium category vacuum tube phono stage with extreme low noise and distortion level, made for complementing the series Qualiton. On its input, the appliance can receive low level signals coming from moving magnet cartridges. Optionally at extra charge, with the help of the changeable card at the rear panel, the circuit can be re-configurated, this way, the appliance will be able to process signals coming from moving coil cartridges. In the signal transmitting circuit, signal processing is done by Tungsram ECC83 as well as Tesla E88CC double triodes. The standard RIAA correction is realised by a classic passive network between the amplifying stages. In this case, we did not use a negative feedback. The nominal input sensitivity of the appliance is 5 mV. In response to an input signal with an effective value like this, at the output ports an effective output signal value of the nominal 500 mV can be measured.

In order to achieve the lowest possible noise level, we have designed an external, stabilised power supply unit for the appliance with high capacity filter capacitors and high quality connectors. In this respect, we were not willing to settle for any compromises either, considering that this construction is much more advantageous than a usual configuration. In the case of the latter, the scattered magnetic field of the power supply transformer has a significantly adverse effect on the signal-to-noise ratio of the signal transmitting circuit, directly deteriorating the musical experience.

Xs Series

Xs Preamp Dual Chassis Preamp – $38,000

Xs Preamp_stack_remote_raw

This large, dual-chassis preamplifier is built in true dual-mono arrangement. Each channel has its own power supply board with over 100,000uf of capacitance for unfettered transient response. Noise levels have been dropped from the already low-noise XP30. Refined circuit design and layout, new gain-stages with auto-bias and DC compensation all combine for optimal performance. But it all comes down to sound; once you listen to the Xs preamplifier, there is no going back.

Xs Phono Dual Chassis Phono – $45,000

The Xs Phono preamplifier represents an all-out assault on the state-of-art in Vinyl and the most intensive and difficult design effort made at Pass Laboratories. The final product of this massive effort extracts the utmost performance from a simple topology  and operates with the extremely small and delicate signals coming from today’s wide variety of phono cartridges. The result is music that emerges from a quieter background and blooms into a richer, more precise soundstage.

Xp Series

Xp-10 Single Chassis Remote – $5,250

Designed with considerable technical improvements over past preamplifiers, the XP-10 showers the listener with a more dynamic sound, cleaner and more accurately delineated bass lines and a greatly refined spatial envelope. Though the current entry-level line-stage preamplifier, this descendant of the highly acclaimed and successful Pass Laboratory’s X series preamplifiers sounds and measures significantly better than its predecessors.

Xp-30 Three Chassis Remote – $16,500

The XP-30 is a three-piece modular preamplifier consisting of one control/power supply chassis and two additional gain chassis each containing analog signals of a single channel. The XP-30 generates less noise, crosstalk and distortion while delivering greater dynamic range, gain, output voltage and output current. But it is the sound, not the technical excellence, that truly makes this a breakthrough instrument.

Xp-15 Phono Preamp – $3,800

A single-chassis phonostage preamplifier, the XP-15 represents a sophistication and maturation of both thinking and component evolution. Each new design of that evolution has brought a steady improvement in measured metrics and flexibility — greater accuracy in the RIAA curve, greater range of gain from 46db to 76db…and the list goes on. But more importantly the evolution has contributed to a more robust sonic image presented with improved resolution and additional sonic ease.

Xp-25 Two Chassis Phono Preamp – $10,600

The twin chassis XP-25 phonostage preamplifier greatly improves upon the already exceptional performance of the XP-15. In addition to a separate and isolated power supply chassis, the XP-25 boasts adjustable gain, two separate inputs, a low cut filter, mute feature, resistive and capacitive loading all on the front panel for easy access. With the XP-25 you will discover a whole new dimension of dynamics, inner detail and spectral richness.

Awards and Reviews

“If you like an inviting balance of warmth and detail along with superior dynamic punch and transparency, the XP-25 is a rock solid high reward investment and just might be your last phono preamp purchase! ”

HPA-1  Headphone Amplifier – $3,500

Class A

Announcing the new Headphone Amp from Pass Labs!

Like the XP preamplifiers, the HPA-1 is the result of great attention to detail.

Starting at the power cord, the AC line is first filtered for high frequency noise and then isolated by a special toroidal transformer shielded by mu-metal for lower magnetic noise and shielded for electrostatic noise by a separate Faraday shield, grounded to analog ground. This is followed by fast/soft recovery rectifiers, generous CRC passive filtering and sophisticated discreet DC regulators and then more passive RC filters.

Works with headphones
with impedances of 15 ohms to 600 ohms

Low feedback wide bandwidth discreet design.

Class A
direct coupled Mosfet output stage

Custom low noise Torodial power transformer
with a Farady shield

Discreet regulated power supply for audio circuits.
